Tinseltown Dreams Coming To The iPhone

Namco has announced the upcoming release of Tinseltown Dreams: The 50’s for the iPhone/iPod Touch. Players get a chance to make a movie of their very own by matching three of a kind of movie items.

Players get money as they make matches. The money can be used to buy different people that make a movie. There are categories of people and the player gets what they pay for. The more money they spend will buy the top notch people, but it may take longer to get the movie out and accumulate that money. There is a balance between a good movie and getting it out on time.

The acute reader may be thinking this game sounds really familiar and they would be correct. The game has appeared on the PC and is now being adapted to the iPhone/iPod Touch. Now users can take a great game with them where ever they go.

If you like match three games, check out Tinseltown Dreams: The 50s in the Apple App Store when it becomes available in the next few weeks.

Tumbles Review

Tumbles is a match three game for the iPhone/iPod Touch. There is one feature that sets this match three game apart from other match three games and that is the use of the accelerometer. Players can tilt the iPhone/iPod touch in any direction to get the balls to roll from side to side to make matching the same color easier, but more challenging at the same time.

The goal of the game is to clear the bubbles off the screen. Players clear the bubbles by tapping on three or more of the same color. The bubbles disappear and players have to clear the entire screen before time runs out to get points. If players can not manage to clear a bubble and it is the only color on the screen there is a “zap” ability that can take care of the bubble. There are only a certain amount of zaps that can be used, though, so gamers can’t count on the zaps to save them.

As each level increases it gets harder and harder to match all of the bubbles. There are bubbles that change color when you click on them. These bubbles are marked by a line. Tapping on a lined bubble will change the color of the bubble, which makes it more difficult to match. Players should try to get rid of the striped bubbles first.

Players can change the dynamic of the game by tilting the iPhone/iPod Touch. Tilting the device will cause the bubbles to fall and move in the direction the device was tilted. The bubbles shift around according to physics and can be moved into matching colors that way. The player can tip the device in any direction to cause the bubbles to move.

Over all, Tumbles is a fun game and a good way to pass the time. The tilting feature makes the match three play different than other match three games and keeps the game play style interesting. If you are a fan of match three games, check out Tumbles in the Apple App Store.

The ten months will have PopCap introducing new installments in the Bejeweled lineup, holding the first-ever community-wide competition for Bejeweled Blitz, and staging exciting promotional activities such as the upcoming “Show Your Bejeweled Love” contest.

“Bejeweled has obviously succeeded beyond our wildest dreams,” said Jason Kapalka, co-creator of the game and co-founder and chief creative officer at PopCap. “When Brian Fiete, John Vechey and I built the game ten years ago, we had no grand aspirations for it or PopCap, we were trying to survive as a company during the depths of the dot-com collapse. Little did we know we’d still be selling copies of Bejeweled a decade later!”

Bejeweled was originally released as Diamond Mine and has sold over 350 million copies on just about every platform available. Bejeweled can even be found in the back of the seats on air planes. There really isn’t anywhere Bejeweled has not be ported to. Not to mention it created a new genre of casual game that has been duplicated over and over again.
