Star Saver is a new multiplatform game for the iPhone, iPad, Mac and the PC. The developers of the game claim that the game is a cross between Angry Birds and A Boy and His Blob. Star Saver is a fast-paced physics platformer. Players have to attempt to get Squidly and Sir Squishy to save the stars from the Greedy Kings of the Feed Me Galaxy. The catch is Squidly and Sir Squishy are attached together and must work together.

The developers are trying to raise some money to complete the game. The game has been in development for six months and they have reached a point where they could us some money to test the game better, buy new hardware and get some software licenses.

MobileGameStudio has announced the upcoming release of Web Swinger for Apple iOS devices. The goal of the game is to get the spider down to the bottom of the barn. Players navigate their way through the barn using the arrow keys and swiping their finger to swing back and forth. Players have to avoid other bugs on the way down. The spider has three lives to try and get to the bottom of the barn.

Monster Trouble HD is a strategy game for the iPad and has just been put on the new and notable list in the iTunes store. Players have to build houses and then populate the houses to defend against Ogres and Goblins. The challenge is defending against the monsters. The monsters can come from one or more entrances, depending on the map. There are nine different maps and thirty different levels.

It wouldn’t be a strategy/tower defense game without towers to defend your area. Monster Trouble HD contains towers for players to use to protect their buildings. Players can use the towers strategically and force the monsters to have to go around the towers and into more defenses.

Electronic Arts has purchased the developer of the mega-popular iOS game Angry Birds, Chillingo, for $20M.

However, since Rovio still owns the rights to the game, EA will not be publishing Angry Birds, and instead will be hoping the developer comes up with some nice new IPs that might approach the success of the IP.

In August, the game had already sold 6.5M copes on the iPhone/iPod Touch alone. The $4.99 iPad version had sold more than 200,000 copies. The game is downloaded more than 50,000 times a day.

Chillingo has quite a task ahead of it, trying to follow up on Angry Birds.
