Fantastic Pets Coming to Kinect

It looks like Kinectimals will be having competition in March 2011, as THQ has announced Fantastic Pets, which will allow gamers to have unicorns and dragons as pets instead of tigers.

According to the presser:

“Fantastic Pets offers an incredibly high level of interactivity, creativity and originality,” said Martin Good, Executive Vice President, THQ Kids, Family, Casual Games, and Global Online Services. “As you discover your pet’s personality and become enmeshed within the world, Fantastic Pets becomes more like a personalized adventure and less like a game.”

Electronic Arts Announces Create

Electronic Arts has announced Create, a puzzle-solving game that many have incorrectly labelled a “LittleBigPlanet clone”. Rather, it’s more in line with Sierra’s old The Incredible Machine titles in which you solve Rube Goldberg-like contraptions and create your own levels.

According to the press release:

The more players explore the game, solve level-based challenges, and customize their world, the more rewards will be unlocked. Creativity will be unleashed as players design environments with easy-to-use brushes and tools, including textures, props and animating objects that bring the scene to life.

Create will be released for the PC, Mac, PlayStation 3, Wii and Xbox 360 in November 2010, and will utilize both the Wii remote and PlayStation Move.

Plants Vs. Zombies XBLA To Feature Co-Op, Versus Multiplayer

The Xbox Live Arcade version of Plants Vs. Zombies will feature new multiplayer modes, including a co-op mode and a versus multiplayer mode.

Popcap Games’ Ed Allard stated:

With a ton of new features and content exclusive to the XBLA version, we’ve pulled out all the stops to both expand and optimize this adaptation for a hard core gaming audience. The two new multiplayer modes allow gamers to work cooperatively to defeat hordes of invading zombies, or go head-to-head in a true ‘plants vs. zombies’ challenge. We’re also featuring a customized ‘house’ for tracking and sharing progress as well as a total of 21 mini-games and 12 achievements, all designed to enthrall Plants vs. Zombies players once again.

Let us know how much you’re looking forward to Plants Vs. Zombies on XBLA. The game has no set release date yet, and will cost 1200 MSP ($15 USD).
