Legio Announced

Mezmer Games has announced Legio, a turn-based chess-style strategy game that resembles Heroes of Might & Magic for the PC.

The new gameplay movie showcases one of the main characters of Legio, the King, lurking around at night until he runs into an opponent slightly out of his own league, the Giant. The movie also displays the prominent gameplay elements of Legio. Each game starts with players setting up the game board and placing their battle units in position. In the actual battle, you can see how the different units move around, attack, and eventually die – all of it being performed differently by different characters. The movie clip also shows the timing element when attacking an enemy.

The game seems like an interesting digital download – you can visit the official site here.

Tom Clancy’s EndWar Heading to Handhelds

Ubisoft announced Tom Clancy’s EndWar is coming to the Nintendo DS and the PSP. Tom Clancy’s EndWar is a strategy game set in the future during World War III.

Players have the option of controlling U.S. Joint Strike Force, European Enforcers Corps or Russian Spetsnaz Guards Brigade in three different single player campaigns. The campaigns are different, but interwoven. Each campaign has 30 different battles to try to win. The battles might be in the future, during a war that has not happened, but the places of the war are real such as Paris and London.

Don’t like single player campaigns? Tom Clancy’s EndWar has multiplayer options, as well. Two players can compete against each other in 100 different scenerios or create their own.

The game is set to be released on November 4, 2008.

Chronic Logic Releases Zatikon

Chronic Logic has released a turn based multi-player tactics game, Zatikon. Player have to construct an army to beat their opponent and have quite a few militia to choose. Players can build a ground army out of dragons, warriors, necromancers or holy Templard. But if attacking your opponent through the air is more your style, you can choose from archers, crossbow men or mages. There are multiple strategies to play, but I am guessing a combination of air and ground troops are the best bet, because it always seems to be.

Players don’t have to play against each other. They can play agains the computer in single player mode or wiht a friend in coop mode. Zatikon, also, offers a random army mode to keep things interesting.

If this sounds like a game you may be interested in, head over to cronic logic and try out the demo. The demo contains all of the game modes and does not contain a time limit. What do you have to lose?
