Jane’s Hotel Review

Jane’s Hotel is a time management game for the iPhone/iPod Touch. The goal of the game is to build up the hotel and make it THE place to stay. Players have to cater to the customers every need.

Players take on the role of Jane as she tries to make a great hotel. Jane has to give the keys to the customers as they walk in and then the customer will go to their rooms. While in their rooms, the customers will want them cleaned, want coffee or a newspaper and Jane has to fulfill all those needs. Jane has to kick off all of the tasks by touching the screen.

Jane’s Hotel is very similar to the PC version of the game. If you liked the PC version you will like the iPhone/iPod Touch version of the game as well. The game ramps up in difficulty pretty quickly. The beginning levels serve as an introduction to the game and the tasks the player will have to perform. After the first few levels, the game starts getting fairly tough. There are so many tasks to manage.

Every time a level is complete the player earns money. The money can be spent on items to make the hotel more appealing. Every item that is bought makes more work for the player. The player can buy plants to make the hotel look nice, but they have to make sure to water the plants or the plants will die and take points away from the player. There is an option to add a television to the hotel and adding the the television means one more task for Jane. Jane has to turn on the TV any time a guest wants to watch the TV.

The touch controls on the game work well and there was never a time that the screen was touched and it did not register. Handing out the keys does get complicated if there is money on the desk to pick up. There was a few times I clicked the desk to get keys, but instead picked up money. I didn’t notice the money was on the desk and was a bit confused on why I didn’t pick up the keys. Not a big deal, though.

Over all, the game play is fun and challenging and Jane’s Hotel is a great way to pass the time. As mentioned previously, if you liked the version for the PC you will enjoy this version as well. The games are very similar and the main difference is the touch screen features and the fact that you can play the game anywhere you are.
