The iOS version of Worms Crazy Golf is currently price slashed to a bargain 99 cents. The game is a mixture of classic 2D Worms and minature golf featuring some bizarre power-ups.

Worms Crazy Golf features many levels and objects from the Worms universe such as the sheep, old woman, mole, magnets, mines and crazy chain reactions making an appearance. The game has three surreal 18-hole golf courses (four in the iPad version), with a diverse range of skill-based challenge modes as well. Each level has increasingly puzzling hole design and an array of obstacles; from castles that teleport your ball, cannons that shoot it across the landscape and even obstructive comedy bats. The game requires skillful shot execution and clever use of special powers such as the parachute ball, or the ability to slow time down will see you hit par and progress to the next hole. On the iPhone version, the fourth course (‘The Carnival Course’) is available as an In-App purchase.

The game can be purchased on the iTunes Store or directly from here.

Team 17 has posted the first gameplay trailer of their recently announced Worms spinoff game, Worms Crazy Golf.

The concept is a brilliant one – use the Worms tactical strategy model and apply it to miniature golf. Get the ball to the flag area in as few shots as possible, while getting bonuses for the ball touching gold coins and bonking enemies and opposing golfers.

Check out the gameplay trailer in the video below. Worms Crazy Golf will be coming out on PC and PlayStation 3 later this year.

The strategy is taken from ice hockey, while the fast pace action is taken from street hockey.

Players attempt to score on their opponents by finding the weakness in their defense and getting the puck into the goal. It is easier to say than do, though, considering the game uses street hockey physics. Players have to master the movement of street hockey to be able to score on their opponents. Hockey Dash has simplified the rules of hockey so anyone can jump into the game and have fun while playing.

“OGPlanet has found success with gameplay styles that most companies don’t think are suited to online play, like Rumble Fighter,” said Sangchul Park, CEO of OGPlanet. “We think we’ve got another winner with Hockey Dash. Its fast pace and unique game mechanics make for a very high-energy, fun multiplayer experience.”

Press Release Follows:
El Segundo, Calif.-June 3rd, 2010-OGPlanet, the global leader in multiplayer free-to-play online entertainment, today announced that its newest game Hockey Dash has gone into open beta test and will launch throughout North America on June 9th, 2010. Hockey Dash blends the strategy of ice hockey with the breathtaking pace of street hockey for an adrenaline-fueled competition that takes skill and smarts to succeed.

As in ice hockey, Hockey Dash players must expose the opponents’ weak spots to land the puck in the goal, but because the game uses real street hockey skating physics, players must master dexterous and agile movements to be successful. Hockey Dash rules are simplified and gameplay focuses on teamwork and heavy contact moves so even newcomers can jump in and have a blast, while more experienced players can sharpen their strategies to create an edge.

In match mode, players may freely create teams with other users against other user-created teams or against AI NPC teams. Single player modes feature mini-games and missions with leader boards to earn in-game currency and purchase items and skills. As with all OGPlanet games, community activities such as league matches and tournaments encourage a high level of achievement and glory.

THQ will be releasing All Star Karate, in the spring, for the Nintendo Wii.

Players of All Star Karate will have an opportunity to earn their black belt. The main character in the game attempts to save an old man that is being attacked by Ninjas. The fight introduces the main character to the sensei that will teach him the ways of karate. Players will have to master karate moves using the Wii remote and nunchuck. Players will earn 7 different colored belts including a black belt in karate. Once players have mastered their techniques, they can battle each other in Combat mode.

If you like karate or want to learn some moves, check out All Star Karate when it is released this Spring.

Press Release Follows:

All Star Karate, due out this spring, is the first karate game that utilizes the Nintendo Wii’s unique motion control gameplay as players embark on a quest to earn their black belt under the guidance of a sensei.

In All Star Karate, players will follow the life of a young, martial arts novice whose noble attempt to save an elderly man from a pack of ninjas brings him face-to-face with a true karate master. The sensei, a cantankerous old-timer, offers his services and teaches his new protégé the proper techniques and disciplines of karate and guides him toward achieving the black belt.

In single-player, Career mode, players will execute and master various karate moves utilizing the Wii Remote™ and Nunchuk, or two Wii Remotes, in order to attain the seven different colored belts or achievement levels in karate, including the black belt. Additionally, players can show off their hand, kicking and blocking techniques by sparring with a friend in Challenge mode or by creating their own move sequences to perform with the Kata Editor.

Take this opportunity to share with your readers these brand new screenshots of All Star Karate in action, released from THQ.

Just in time for that scary time of year, Mumbo Jumbo has announced Zombie Bowl-o-Rama. The zombies have taken over the bowling lane and they must be stopped. Never knew zombies were into bowling, but these zombies are and they are not going to give up their establishment easily. Of course the zombies are in the bowling lanes in search of brains.

Players have to bowl the zombies down with bowling balls. There are ten different bowling balls to choose from and one zombie head. Players select a ball and use it in six different lanes to combat the zombies and work their way up to the final show down. Sticking with the Halloween theme, there are tricks and treats at the players disposal to help them send the zombies back to where they came. Players have a few different tricks at their disposal, such as Werewolves, MiniCorpses and Dance Fever. The treats are ZombieNator, Meatball, ZomBees and Brain Balls.

International Athletics is a sports game for the iPhone/ iPod Touch. Players can compete in a wide array of sporting events from sprinting to discus and even the pole vault. The games are broken down into categories making them easy to find in the quick play mode.

International Athletics offers three playing modes, Quick Event, Decathlon and Tournament. The Quick Event is a great mode to for two reasons. Players can practice all of the different events and players can play short bursts of the game as their time permits. Some of the events took a good amount of practice to get the hang of them. Basically, anything that involved throwing took me a while to get use to. The item being thrown would land foul most of the time, until I got the hang of the controls. All of the modes have difficulty levels as well. Players can play as a rookie, pro or advanced.

The Decathlon lets players compete in ten randomly chosen events. The events are mixed from the track and field events, the throwing events and the jumping events. The difficulty comes down to the events that are chosen for you. Some events are a bit easier to compete in than other events. The running events are the easiest and the throwing events are the most difficult.

The Tournament mode has players competing in randomly chosen events, but this time you are competing for a country and not for yourself. The events are still a mix of jumping, running and throwing.Players can choose from three different countries to represent, Spain, Canada and China.

The control mechanisms are all touch based. Some events are easier to get the hang of the controls than other events. The running is the easiest event to control. Players simply rub their finger back and forth on the screen to get their character to run. The throwing and jumping events can take a bit to get use to. Players have to touch the screen multiple times at different points to get all of the actions complete. For instance, if the player is doing a long jump, they rub their finger back and forth to get the character to run and then before the white line, touch and hold your finger on the screen to get the angle meter to appear and then tap the screen again at the desired angle. It doesn’t sound too difficult, but it is hard to get it all right when the character is in the middle of the long jump. It takes some practice, but most games do.

International Athletics offers many hours of game play and has a ton of different events. There are enough different types of events to keep the biggest sports fan entertained for quite some time. The other nice thing is there is a mode for the amount of time you have available. If you are waiting around and have a bunch of time on your hands, you can start up a Decathlon, but if you only have about 5 to 10 minutes to spare then you can play a quick event. If you are a sports fan, you can’t go wrong with International Athletics. Head over to the Apple App Store and check it out.
