Turn Your Friends and Family Into Zombies

George A. Romero the creator of great horror movies like Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead and Creepshow will be releasing an app on the iPhone/iPod touch called APP of the DEAD. Players can now turn any picture into a zombie and then shoot the zombie down.

Users can turn any picture into a zombie. The picture can be taken with the iPhone or imported from a picture library. The iPod touch can’t take photos so the only option there is to use a picture from a picture library. The pictures can then be turned into zombies with grisly scars and body wounds. Of course it is a bit dangerous to have zombies around, so players have the option to use the first person shooter engine in the app and lay waste to the newly created zombies. There is a more civilized option too, add the zombies to a undead slide show.

If you like to turn your friends into zombies and then shoot them, check out APP of the Dead when it goes on sale, soon, in the Apple App Store.

GameLab Innovation Center announced the release of Roswell Fighter for the iPad. The game was previously released on the iPhone/iPod Touch and is a classic arcade shooter style game. The graphics have been updated to fit the bigger screen and better resolutionof the iPad.

Players battle in a the fight of their lives as they protect the earth from the invading Alien forces. Players are in control of an airplane as they fight off the alien invaders. There are forty different types of enemies both in the air and on the ground for players to combat. The plane is controlled by using either the accelerometer in the iPad or through touch controls on the screen.

Roswell Fighter may be a bit more challenging than other shooters, since this game requires players to conserve their ammunition. Players can’t run in and start shooting everything that moves or they will run out of bullets and not be able to complete the level. Players need to hit multiple enemies with one shot and can do that by getting missiles and bombs. There are mini games along the way that will help with getting ammunition.

If you are into airplane fighter games and own an iPad, head over to the Apple App store and check out Roswell Fighter.

Lt. Fly Rise of the Arachnids Review

Lt. Fly Rise of the Arachnids is a neat game for the iPhone/iPod Touch. The game combines two types of games, matching and shooting. Players have to match four of a kind and clear squares off of the board while shooting spiders that are trying to take their life away. If the spiders fall down to the ground without being shot the players loses some of their life. If enough spiders hit the ground, the player loses the level.

The game is a neat combination of games and keeps players on their feet. The matching side of the game requires players to swap squares of different colors to try to make a four of a kind match. The squares that are matched will disappear and more squares will drop down from the top of the screen. Each time a certain color is matched, it fills a meter. As the squares are being matched, there are spiders that periodically drop from the top of the screen on the non-matching side. The spiders have to be shot with the gun and killed before they reach the ground. Players start with some ammo for their gun, but can get more by getting the bullets on the matching side down to the bottom of the screen.

The game is fast paced and players need to pay attention. If players take too long to make matches, they will run out of ammo. Players have to balance the matching side of the game and the shooting side of the game. Each level, of course, gets more and more difficult to beat.

The graphics in the game are appealing and the touch mechanisms work well. Every time the screen was touched, the touch was recognized and caused something to happen in the game. The shooting works well too. Players touch the screen to aim the gun and then release the touch to cause the gun to shoot.

Over all, Lt. Fly Rise of the Arachnids is a really fun and entertaining game. Players have to balance the matching and shooting side and that keeps things fun and interesting. The game is different from other games and the balance between two similar games keeps Lt. Fly Rise of the Arachnids interesting. If you are looking for a fun and different game to play on the iPhone/iPod Touch, you can’t go wrong with Lt. Fly Rise of the Arachnids.
