Gameshows Come to Facebook

There are many different types of games on Facebook, but now players can get in on some of the game shows that have been on television, Deal or No Deal and 1 vs. 100. If you would rather play games on the PC and not in Facebook, iWin will be releasing both of the games on the PC platform in the Fall.

Players will battle against the banker in Deal or No Deal. Players will go around opening brief cases and deciding if they want to make a deal or if they don’t want to make a deal with the banker. Players can open cases with their friends or the Facebook community. The game adds a few twists compared to the TV show. Players are able to add sweeteners to their game, which can add bigger money to the cases, reveal the lower money cases, save banker offers and more.

In 1 vs 100 players can invite their friends to be part of the Mob as they battle for supremacy. The game has been redesigned to work on the Facebook Platform and still be entertaining.

“Endemol is excited to bring our most popular and engaging brands to these emerging gaming platforms. As Deal or No Deal and 1 vs. 100 have tremendous brand equity and inherent gameplay mechanics, we are looking forward to building a successful and innovative business with iWin,” said Joerg Bachmaier, SVP/GM Americas at Endemol Worldwide Brands.

Treasure Quest Being Closed by Big Fish

Fans of the Facebook game Treasure Quest will be saddened to learn that Big Fish will be closing the game portal down on March 15, ending one of the first social networking games by the company. The game had peaked at 323,000 monthly users and 43,000 daily users, but lately, those numbers have dipped to 48,000 monthly and 16,000 daily.

According to Big Fish reps:

“Unfortunately, the resources required to make Treasure Quest what it is are not sustainable. Many options were assessed and seriously considered before this final decision was made. The decision was a very difficult one to make but one that needed to be made as a business.”

Big Fish has assured the public that the company is perfectly healthy, there are no layoffs planned, and its other Facebook social games My Tribe and Faunasphere will remain active. “To clarify, there is no need for concern regarding Big Fish Games as a company,” said a Big Fish representative. “While Treasure Quest is no longer sustainable, Big Fish Games will remain and continues to grow.”

Web Game: Our Soldiers

Dark Dolmen Studios has announced the release of Our Soldiers, a game that can be played on the web and players can play against each other or the computer. Our Soldiers is a clone of the Worms game, but instead of using little worms to carry out the combat, players use soldiers.

Players can choose from a few different soldiers. Once the soldiers are picked, the game play is very similar to Worms. The terrain is randomly generated and the players are randomly put on the terrain. Each team has to try to be the last one standing. Players attempt to eliminate the other players by using weapons to shoot and kill them.

The game is available on Facebook so players can compete against their friends. If you would like to check the game out, head to their Facebook Community.
