Astraware announced the release of Astraware Sudoku and OddBlob for WebOS. The games will initially work on the Palm Pre and Pre Plus, with support coming for the Pixi later on. Both releases keep with the long standing tradition of Astraware games on Palm devices.

Astraware Sudoku is a Sudoku game packed with features, including a puzzle of the day. Each day there is a new puzzle to be downloaded and solved. After players solve the puzzle, they can upload their times to the leader board to see how they compete with other players.  OddBlob is a puzzle-arcade game created from modeling clay, and featuring online leader boards for players to post their high scores in both Strategy and Panic modes.

“We’re delighted to be re-establishing our long-term relationship with Palm, and supporting the new platform with a range of great casual games,” said Howard Tomlinson, CEO of Astraware. “Our experience at supporting well-featured devices in a range of sizes and resolutions has helped us to make our first webOS games a pleasure to play, and we look forward to bringing many more titles to the platform.”

Astraware will be releasing other games for WebOS in the future, as well.

KoolFing has announced the upcoming release of their newest game, Whack N Roll , for the iPhone/iPod Touch.  The game combines the fast paced action of Whack-A-Mole and strategy.

Players attempt to whack their way through 45 different levels. The levels change, but the goal stays the same. Players need to whack things as they pop up. The players are aiming for birds of all different kinds. Once they get past the birds, players need to fight bosses too. Bosses take a different strategy than just whacking.

Thumbstar Games has announced the release of Carnival Fiesta for the iPhone/iPod Touch. Now mobile gamers can take the carnival with them on the road. The goal of the game is to slide down the slides or different rides and pick up as many passengers as possible on your way down.

Of course it is not as easy as sliding down a slide and picking up passengers on the way. There are obstacles in your way. Players have to avoid the obstacles while sliding down the slides and picking up people. The more people the player can pick up, the higher their score. The goal of the game stays the same from level to level, but the slides and rides change. Each different slide or rid offers a new challenge to the player.

Carnival Fiesta offers three modes of play. The modes accommodate all types of players, from the beginning players to the more advanced player. Everyone will be challenged.

Alawar has announced the release of a bundle of three games, the Fun Frenzy Pack, for the iPhone/iPod Touch. The games consist of one time management game, an arcade game and a hidden object game. The entire bundle can be purchased for only $1.99 that is 30% off of the regular price.

The games contained in the Fun Frenzy Pack are Farm Frenzy, Smash Frenzy 2 and Gourmania. Farm Frenzy is a time management game where players have to manage a farm. The game has some arcade elements to it as well, but the goal is to manage a productive farm. Smash Frenzy is a break out style arcade game. Players have to break all of the bricks to move on to the next level. Gourmania is a hidden object game where players have to find the ingredients for the food and then build the sandwiches. There is no time limit on the levels, allowing players to take their time searching for the ingredients.

Slingo, Inc. and Funkitron have announced the release of Slingo Quest Egypt, an arcade game for the PC. The goal of the game is to beat the slingo boards. The quest this time brings players through Egypt, as the title of the game implies.

Slingo Quest Egypt adds all new power ups to the game, such as the “Lucky” powerup to get more matches, “Adders” – that add extra points, and “Shuffle” – that gives new numbers. The new version has new features as well as a new setting. The new features are Picture Mode, Spreading Slingo, and mini-games like Memory games and Odd Man Out.
