Electronic Arts and Bioware have released a new free-to-play Facebook game Dragon Age: Legends, in which you can create a character and send them off on battles, using Facebook friends as party members during battles. Players can then build their own castle and have servants perform tasks like creating potions.

Even better, playing the game unlocks free items for use in Dragon Age II; all you have to do is link your account to the game.

The game itself is pretty fun, and not too demanding. Players can check it out at the official Facebook site here.

School 26: Summer of Secrets

School has been out for a while now and the kids may be getting a little “bored”. A great way to cure that boredom for teens and tweens is School 26: Summer of Secrets for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. The game will put them right back into the school scene by using social savvy to get your friends to spill their secrets. If you succeed, you’ll help sparring friends make peace, establish love connections, and get the whole crew psyched for the big Battle of the Bands competition

Silicon Sisters Interactive has released School 26: Summer of Secrets the second game in the School 26 series. The game is aimed at the teen and tween age group and requires skills they would be good at. The players are immersed in a social setting as they try to engage with their friends and make it to the greatest concert of the summer.

“Our first School 26 game was about fitting in at a new school. Now that Kate has a network of friends, Summer of Secrets is more about being yourself and seeing the impact of your choices,” says Silicon Sisters co-founder Kirsten Forbes. “As you play, the game tracks your decisions and presents you with a personality profile based on your playing style. So while you’re helping Kate sort out all of these secrets, you’ll also learn something about yourself.”

Players can get School 26: Summer of Secrets from the Apple App store for $2.99 for the iPhone/iPod Touch and $4.99 for the iPad.

Allied Star Police

4th & Battery, an experimental label from PopCap Games, has announced the release of Allied Star Police for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. 4th & Battery worked with Owain, a Make-A-Wish recipient, to make his dream  reality. Owain came up with the idea of the game and his dream was to have the game become a game everyone could play.

Allied Star Police is a side scrolling game that is a combination of a real-time strategy game and a tower defense game. The goal is to reach and destroy the Flamion Base. Players have vehicles, such as Hovercraft SuperVehicle and the mysterious G.S.L.C. to try and take out the base.

“Owain was literally like every other designer and developer I’ve worked with,” said Matthew Lee Johnston, Senior Producer at 4th & Battery. “The minute he walked in the door he handed us a fully realized game design, figured out to the last detail. He stuck with that vision, and directed the team through the development process like a pro. When he first sat down to play it, he naturally knew what to do and won his first round easily, which felt to us like we did a good job executing on his plan.”

If you like real-time strategy games, head over to the Apple App Store and check out Allied Star Police. The game is free to download and play.

Go Fishing On Your iDevice

Gamenauts and Menara Games have announced the upcoming release of Ninja Fishing for the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. Ninja Fishing combines the ancient art of fishing and sword play. Players will need to use the touch and tilt features of their iOS device.

Players take on the role of Otoro, a slightly out of shape ninja with a goal to catch as much sushi as possible. Players have to tilt the device to maneuver the fishing line around underwater mines and get the fishing line as deep as possible. The deeper the line drops the easier it will be to hook fish. Once the fish is hooked, players have to tilt the device again to get the fish to the surface. After the fish has been pulled to the surface, Otoro throws the fish into the air and the player has to slice the sushi. Players have to be quick to slice the sushi, but not get caught by the bombs. Players earn money from catching fish. The more rare the fish the more money the player will earn. Players can use the money to upgrade their fishing equipment.

If Ninja Fishing sounds like an interesting game, head over to the Apple App store on August 4th and pick yourself up a copy.
