MumboJumbo has announced the release of Midnight Mysteries: Devil on the Mississippi . The game is the next installment in the Midnight Mystery series of games and is available via digital download or retailers nationwide. Previous Midnight Mysteries tackled Edgar Allen Poe and the Salem Witch Trials, now they are tackling Mark Twain.

Players have to solve brain-teasing puzzles, ghosts from the past and hidden object puzzles. All of the puzzle solving is contained in a story that will keep players entertained with twists and turns that are unexpected. Players have to help Mark Twain’s ghost. Mark Twain is questioning the true identity of Shakespeare. The questioning wakes up an evil ghost that the player must help Mark Twain deal with.

“Devil on the Mississippi includes eight adventure missions that take place in settings on both sides of the pond,” said Cottam. “This is a Collector’s Edition game, so we’ve added lots of fun extras for the player, including a helpful strategy guide.  We’re really proud of what we’ve achieved in this installment—this is the best Midnight Mystery yet.”

If Midnight Mysteries™: Devil on the Mississippi sounds like an interesting game, head over to Big Fish Games and pick up a copy.

A Personal Post

There are few things more scary than hearing your son has Leukemia. On March 17th, Liam, my son, was diagnosed with Leukemia. Cancer is a scary thing, but there were two things that made the news less scary; Leukemia, in children, is very curable and the doctors at Children’s Hospital know how to cure Leukemia. The doctors looked Derrick and I in the eye and told us they can cure the Leukemia and they are good at it.

We were admitted into Children’s Hospital on March 17th and stayed there for the next seven weeks as Liam went through the most intense Chemotherapy of the two year treatment. Liam’s stay in the hospital was not always easy due to the Chemotherapy he was enduring to kill the Cancer. When Liam was feeling well enough to get out of bed, there were many things to entertain him. The hospital had a play room filled with board games and other toys to entertain all of the children staying on the floor. There was another room that contained a Nintendo Wii and computers too. There was also a teen room for older kids on the floor.

Every Wednesday there was a treat train that came down the hall. The treat train contained treats such as ice cream sundaes, nachos and strawberry shortcake. There were also Sundays on Saturday every other weekend of each month. The children and their families were able to partake in all the treats.

We were in the hospital over Easter, but Liam did not miss out on the typical Eater events. There was a day that the children were able to dye Easter eggs. The floor Liam was on organized an Easter egg hunt. Liam even got an Easter Basket from the hospital. The Easter Bunny (Nurse) brought it in at some point in the night so it was there when Liam woke up on Easter Morning.

The extras the hospital provides makes life a bit easier while staying in the hospital, but the care they provide is just as phenomenal. The nurses have a great bed side manner and really understand what the children are going through. The nurses are always nice to the children even when the children are less than nice to the nurses. Some of the Chemo drugs can make some children very very grumpy, not to mention the pain they are enduring while trying to get better. The doctors are great too. The doctors visit every day and make sure the child is doing well. They take the time to talk with the parents and let them know what the Chemotherapy will entail.

The doctors, nurses and all the extras make Children’s a great hospital. No child wants to be in the hospital, but Children’s Hospital makes the stay as good an experience as you can have.

I feel so lucky to live near such a great hospital. Cancer is less scary when you have a great hospital like Children’s Hospital Boston working to cure your child. Liam has a long road ahead of him, but I am very confidant that he will beat his Leukemia and go on to live a normal life.

None of the extras and maybe even the research would not be possible without people that walk to raise money for Children’s Hospital. All of this is why I walk for Children’s Hospital.

If you would like to help support me in my walk and my effort to raise money for a great hospital, please donate here. Every donation helps get me closer to my goal.
