Bumper Crop: Another Social Farm Game

Bumper Crop is another farm game for Facebook, but they attempt to set themselves apart from all other farming type games. They don’t just set players up with a farm and tell them to mindlessly click to harvest. Players will have to use their thinking skills for this farm game.

Granted, the game is not rocket science or brain surgery, but it does require players to choose between planting high profit crops or planting crops that are more resistant to weeds. That is right, there are weeds in this farming game. Most other farming games let players off easy and don’t expect them to deal with weeds, but not Bumper Crop. The weeds won’t show up right away, but as you progress in levels the weeds show up to make the game a bit harder.

Bumper Crop also offers special tree and crop seeds. The seeds are given out randomly to players. The players have to look after the seeds and nourish them. Only the chosen people will have the special seeds. They can choose to take care of the seeds and keep them all to themselves or share the seeds with their friends.

If Bumper Crop sounds interesting, check it out on Facebook or here.

JamParty: Be the Music is attempting to change the casual music gaming genre. Instead of having the gamer play plastic instruments to famous songs they get to use those plastic instruments to create music of their own. If you do not own a Rock Band or Guitar Hero guitar then you can create music using the keyboard and mouse.

The guitar hero or Rock Band guitars can be plugged into the PC to create music of your own. The music can be created using the in game library of chords, beats, vocals, and soundscapes. The songs can then be turned into an MP3 or shared on your favorite social network. If you are into creating your own music and then letting your friends play the songs or sharing the songs with your friends, check out JamParty: Be the Music.

Pinball Comes to Facebook

Sony Ericsson has designed a Pinball game for Facebook. Players can now challenge their friends to a game of Pinball without having to leave their homes and head to an arcade or pizza joint. The pinball game is Emusicon Pinball.

Players can challenge their Facebook friends to a friendly game of pinball or post their high score on their Facebook wall. The goal of the game is easy, just get as many points as possible, which is easier to say than do. As the player is hitting the ball through the different pinball obstacles, pictures of their friends are displayed on the pinball board. Each time the area with a picture is hit the picture changes to something else.

The controls on the game are a bit strange, especially if you own an Apple computer and use the program Spaces. Instead of making the arrow keys the keys that control the pinball flippers, they chose to use the right arrow and the control key. If you hit the control key and an arrow key on a Mac it will change your desktop. A few times I tried to hit the ball and found myself changing desktops. It was a bit annoying, but if you don’t own a Mac or use Spaces you shouldn’t have this same issue.

Over all, the game is fun and entertaining. It is one of those games that you could get hooked on if all of your friends started playing. There is plenty of opportunity for friendly rivalry.  If you like Pinball and are on Facebook, check out Emusicon Pinball.
