Pig Shot is an entertaining arcade style game that uses a pig as a pinball. The pig is slung down a course by a sling shot. The player uses their finger to shoot the pig and then tilt the iPod/iPhone to navigate the pig. Pig Shot is designed for the iPod Touch/iPhone.

The pig must travel a short distance collecting stars and avoiding obstacles until the pig reaches another sling shot. It sounds fairly easy, but it is not. There are sheep that wander back and forth through the coarse and trees on either side. Each course is randomly generated, which means the obstacles are different. Some times there will be fences and other times just rocks and piles of hay. If the obstacles are hit, the game is over. The player must roll over stars to accumulate points as they are avoiding the obstacles.

Besides avoiding the obstacles, players have to watch out for patches of water. The water won’t end the game, but it will slow the pig down. If the pig stops rolling before the next sling shot, the game ends. There are two ways to speed the pig up, cauliflower and zoom arrows on the ground. The zoom arrows are random and out of the players control. The cauliflower is also random, but when the player rolls over the cauliflower the pig gets gas. There is a gas meter that builds up, which allows the player to roll over multiple cauliflower and get the benefit. The player can tap the gas meter to give the pig a power boost.

Over all, Pig Shot is strangely addicting. It sounds like a simple game and it is, but the challenge to get a high score is addicting. The courses are random so some times it is easier to get a higher score than others. It really depends what is thrown in the way. If you like arcade style games, where you have to try and score as many points as possible before the game is over, check out Pig Shot. The game is reasonably priced at 99 cents and you definitely get your money worth.

Shoot Pigs and Steer Them Around Obstacles

Nexx Studio and Mudloop have announced the release of Pig Shot for the iPod/iPhone. The goal of the game is to shoot your pig off of a sling shot and then navigate the pig around obstacles. The further you can get your pick with out hitting the obstacles the more points you will achieve.

The obstacles are all random and so are the maps. As players are navigating the coarse, they can pick up some cauliflower. The cauliflower will give the pig gas, but that will allow the pig to have a short burst of speed. The speed can be helpful to move you further along the coarse. The little pig enters a sling shot and the player pulls back on the sling shot to shoot the pig. As the big is rolling, the iPod/iPhone can be titled to direct the pig and avoid the obstacles.
