The holiday season is probably the busiest time of the year, but Christmas Sudoku will help you escape the madness. Christmas Sudoku is a sudoku game for the iPhone/iPod Touch. The game puts a bit of a spin on the standard sudoku game. Instead of solving number puzzles, players are solving object puzzles. All of the objects have a Christmas theme, as one would expect given the name of the game.

Players have a few different options to choose from. There are three different modes of play, easy, medium and hard. Players can play against the clock or in a relaxed mode where they don’t need to worry about the time. Each difficulty mode has thirty different puzzles to solve.

Matching objects instead of numbers is a bit more challenging. It is easier to look at the board and compare numbers, but it is a bit more difficult to look at the board and quickly compare objects. A few times I had to compare the available objects with the objects on the board to figure out which object was missing. The more games you play the easier it becomes to recognize the objects.

Players fill in the empty squares by touching the square and then touching the object they want to place in the square. On easy mode, the rows, columns or grids that are correct are highlighted in yellow allowing players to know they got it correct. Players also get a hint when they complete a row, column or grid. The hint places the correct object into the correct spot, when used.

If the puzzle becomes too difficult players can always click the solve button and have the puzzle solved for them. Players can’t use the solve option to go on to the next puzzle though. The solve option just completes the current puzzle, but to progress past the puzzle you need to solve the puzzle yourself.
