Itemania is a hidden object game for the iPhone/iPod Touch. The goal of the game is to find all of the objects listed at the bottom of the screen as fast as you can. There is a clock that is always running from level to level. The clock is based on the entire game and not just one level. If you take a long time on one level, players can attempt to make up time on the next level.
The goal of the game is like any other hidden object game, but finding the objects is slightly different. Hidden object games on the PC will have a list of items to find and players can find any item from the list of items. On the iPhone/iPod Touch realestate is not as plentiful and there are only a list of a few items at the bottom of the screen. The down fall to this is you can’t find more items until you find the ones on the bottom of the screen because you can’t see the other items. If the items in the list are difficult to find, you can’t progress until you find them and it could take a while.
Itemania is a good fit for the iPhone/iPod Touch, besides the realestate issues in general. The game can be played in short bursts and players can save where they were and pick up at a later time.
Some of the levels in the game can be quite challenging. It is not always easy to find the items on the list. Like most hidden object games, there are a few give me items that are really easy to find and a few items that take more time to find. Once the player has found the items, the player touches the item. Two things can happen at this point. The item has a circle placed around it to show you where you touched. This happens when you have touched the wrong item or the wrong place on the screen. The other thing that can happen is the item is replaced with a star, meaning you found the item and that item is removed from the list. I had a few problems with touching the wrong area. It is hard to get it exact because your finger gets in the way of seeing the object. There is no penalty to touching the wrong object unless you do it multiple times in a row, then you will have time added to the clock.
The graphics in Itemania are good and the items that need to be found look like the real life items. There are some hidden object games that the items don’t really resemble the items in the real world, but that is not the case in this game.
Over all, Itemania is fun to play. There are some challenging levels where it takes a while to find the objects, but games aren’t fun if there is no challenge. The way the items are listed takes a bit to get use to for hidden object players that like to jump around and find things all over the list, but that is not the games fault it is due to the smaller screen on the device. If you are looking for a hidden object game that is fun to play and doesn’t cost a lot of money, check out Itemania.

Thank you so much for reviewing Itemania!
I’d like to mention that the item list is actually scrollable (just drag your finger across the list), so players who like to skip around the item list are welcome to do so. In fact, we encourage it! It makes the game a little easier if you can get a better idea as to what you should be on the look out for.
We’re working on an update to the game now, and hopefully we can make the item list a little more intuitive to use!
