Pipe Mania is a great puzzle game that has been ported to the iPhone/iPod Touch. The game probably needs no introduction, since it has been ported to many other platforms such as the Nintendo DS, PlayStation Portable and even the Nintendo Wii. The goal of the game is to get the goo to flow from the beginning pipe to the end pipe using the pieces provided.
The challenge in the game is to complete the pipe so that the goo flows freely through the pipe and doens’t spill onto the floor. The player has to use the pieces provided to them. Players can see the next pieces to be played, but have to use the pieces provided. Of course, the pieces are not all useful and players have to figure out how to use the parts that are useless. Players can place the pieces they don’t want around the board, but will lose points in the end.
The more points players can amass the higher their score at the end of the game. The high score is another competition factor. Players want to get the pipe created, but they also want to create the pipe gaining as many points as possible. The more points the more players can brag to their friends. Besides bragging rights, players also get trophies based on the points achieved in the level. The trophies are used to open other modes of play.
Pipe Mania offers four different modes of play. The first mode is the World mode, which is a story mode. Players have to restore order to the Isle of Ducts. Arade mode is only opened when players can gain five silver trophies in World mode. The Bonus mode is opened up when players gain four Bronze trophies in World mode and Classic mode is opened up when players gain five bronze trophies in World mode.
Players use the touch features of the iPhone/iPod Touch to place down the pipe pieces. The board is broken down into squares and players touch the square they would like to place the pipe in. A square that already contains a pipe can still have a new pipe placed in that square, but the player loses points for destroying the first pipe in that square.
Pipe Mania is a challenging puzzle game. Players need to be able to use the pieces provided to complete the pipe. It gets challenging to use all the pieces provided and many times players will have to think outside the box to get the pipe built correctly. The beginning levels serve as a tutorial on how to play the game, but after that the game starts full out and players have to fend for themselves. If you like challenging puzzle games, you can’t go wrong with Pipe Mania.

Hey Jennifer, Thanks for the review!
Really glad that you enjoyed the game. For someone who has never played this classic game before, the story line in itself would create enough interest to move on. With 4 modes and 39 levels, you couldn’t ask for more!
To add to the fun, there are different locales such as the railroad, a toy factory, the electricity plant and even the Internet that the players must go through.
Its true that you can’t go wrong with Pipe Mania. Its a Must have for every iPhone or iPod touch owner.
Let us know if you have any suggestions to improve the game.
Cheers!
