Cloud Girls is a puzzle game of sorts for the iPhone/iPod Touch. The goal of the game is to keep your character alive for as long as possible. The longer the character stays alive the more points you will amass. The more points you amass the higher your name is on the leader board.

Players keep their characters alive by catching stars. Stars fall from the sky and are different colors. Each star color corresponds to a paddle color. The paddle is surrounding the character. Players have to spin the paddles to get the right color paddle to match the fallen star. If the star and the paddle match colors, everything is fine and the game continues. If the star and the paddle don’t match or you can’t get the paddle in place in time, the star falls on your characters head causing the character to lose a life.

There are different modes of difficulty. The difficulty is chosen by the character you choose. On the easy level, the character has ten lives, normal mode the character has eight lives, advanced mode the character has six lives, difficult the character has four lives and insane mode the character has two lives. The lives correspond to how many times you can mess up and let a star fall on your characters head.

Once players have caught enough fallen stars, they will level up. Leveling up will cause the stars to fall a bit faster and in harder patterns. In the beginning, the pattern is not too difficult to keep up with, but as the game progresses you find the color paddle you need is at the bottom and the star is falling fast. It gets challenging to get the paddle in place in time. The key is not to panic. A couple times I got over zealous and turned the paddle too much causing the star to fall on my character. The other challenge is good stars will drop, such as more health or more lives and players want to let those items through. Letting those stars through could set the color paddle you need at the bottom, which makes it harder to get in place when needed.

Over all the game is fun to play and provides a good amount of challenge. Cloud Girls is an arcade style game where you want to amass as many points as possible to try and beat other players of the game. The points and the challenge keep players coming back to play the game again and again. Cloud Girls is a game that can be played in short bursts, which makes it a good fit for the iPhone/iPod Touch.
