2 Minute Mysteries is, just like the name implies, 2 minute mysteries for the iPhone/iPod Touch. The mysteries are interactive and were kept short on purpose. The plan was to make short games that could be played while waiting in line or riding on a train or bus. Players would have plenty of time to start up a mystery and finish it before their turn in line came or there stop on the bus or train.
The mysteries are interactive and don’t require too much game play. Players have to watch a full motion video and pay really close attention to what is going on. The video is about a mystery and all of the mysteries and settings are different. The videos involve real life actors, there is no animation in this game. After the player watches the video, they are asked two questions. The questions involve different things. For example, if you watched a video about a dead guy, the questions may revovle around whether or not he was murdered or commited suicide. The second question is why you answered the first question that way. For instance, if you think the person was murdered you have to click on one of the reasons why you feel that way.
The player can watch the video over again or can keep guessing answers until they get the right one. The questions are multiple choice so there are only so many options. Once the questions have been answered the game is done and the mystery is solved.
Each 2 Minute Mysteries episode is about two minutes long, which is not very long. There were quite a few reviews that complained about the length of the game and the fact that the game is $.99 an episode. Currently, there are nine different episodes. The game is short, but the idea is interesting and clever. It is up to you, to determine if the game is worth it. There is a free episode, 2 Minute Mysteries: The Bank Robber, which means players can see what the game is like and determine for themselves if the game is worth $.99.
If you are into interactive mysteries, head over to the Apple App Store and try out 2 Minute Myteries.
