Cyanide and Focus Home Interactive have announced the upcoming release of Dungeon Raiders for the Nintendo DS. Players take control of three unlikely heroes as they attempt to solve riddles and puzzles in an action/adventure game.

Players take on the role of a cinema loving wizard, Glandalf, a failed theif , Luigi and an executioner, Extermino. The trio is strange, but is made even stranger by the fact that Extermino loves to chop things down with his ax before thinking through things. This could make for interesting dynamics in a puzzle game. Players have to solve puzzles and riddle, but that is not the entire game. There is plenty of hack and slash as players defend against the onslaught of creatures haunting the different dungeons.

The game play was designed specifically for the Nintendo DS and players have to utilize the stylus, the microphone and touch screen to solve puzzles. The stylus is utilized by thte magic in the game and the magic becomes very helpful when solving puzzles. Players have to draw magical symbols on the screen to activat the magic. Some spells have silly name, such as Toilet Plunger, but the spells are still helpful.

Dungeon Raiders sounds like an interesting puzzle game. The game play seems like it would appeal to strategy players as well as hack and slash players. The game offers game play for multiple types of gamers. Gamers can check out Dungeon Raiders this Summer (Summer 2009).
