DreamCatcher Games and JoWooD Productions have announced they are developing Yoga for Wii. The game will use the Wii balance board and provides step by step instructions for the different yoga poses. The instructions are given by yoga gurus.
No fitness game would be complete without a way to track your progress and Yoga for Wii has such a mechanism. Players are monitored by a dynamic tracking system. The system even allows users to set up a schedule to keep them on track. The yoga gurus help you stay on track, as well. They make suggestions for poses based on players progress and the computations taken from the Wii balance board.
Yoga for Wii is a bit more than just a yoga game. The game contains three different modes to play in, Story mode, Training mode and Routine mode. The story mode will take players from a yoga noob to a yoga guru. The training mode allows players to train different poses and add them to their routines. Routine mode allows players to go through a set of yoga poses. The set of poses can be user created or players can use the pre-created routines.
Yoga for Wii sounds like a great game for yoga enthusiests or anyone looking to become a yoga enthusiest. Wii Fit has done well and Yoga for Wii takes the wii fit concept in a different direction and expands on it. If you are into yoga, Yoga for Wii should be available in October of this year (2009).
