The Nintendo DSi has been available in Japan for a little while now, but on April 5th it will be available in the United States too. The Nintendo DSi is the next iteration in Nintendo’s best selling handheld gaming system. The Nintendo DSi will sell for $169.99, which is more than the current Nintendo DS.
The higher price tag comes with added features, such as two cameras, a slimer body and Nintendo DSi shop feature. Another new feature is the Nintendo DSi Sound application that allows players to listen to music on their DSi. The Nintendo DSi seems to be incorporating features found in Sony’s Portable PlayStation device, which makes sense given they are competitors.
Another big feature incorporated into the Nintendo DSi is the Nintendo DSiWare. The DSiWare is sort of a store front where players can use Wii points to buy games or applications for the Nintendo DSi. The DSiWare is a central place that gamers can go to get applications for their DSi.
All of the new features brings a higher price tag so it will be interesting to see if players will want to spend the extra money for the Nintendo DSi. Presonally, I don’t think the features are worth the extra price, but I also already own a Nintendo DS. The features may be worth the extra $40 for people that don’t already own a Nintnedo DS, if those people exist.
