Wonderland Adventures: Mysteries of Fire Island is an adventure/puzzle game for the PC. Wonderland Adventures: Mysteries of Fire Island starts out as a role playing adventure game as the player figures out the purpose of the game. Strange fireballs have been dropping from the sky and you need to figure out what is going on. There are many many different adventures that lead the player to the truth behind the fireballs. Each adventure brings a different type of challenge and some times new types of puzzles to solve.

The adventures will sort of serve as levels. Since the game is an adventure game, there are no real levels. Each adventure acts like a level and progresses the main story line. The player adventures to different mines and caverns and will be required to solve puzzles. The puzzles can be quite challenging. The puzzles can always be solved, eventually, but some of the solutions are easier to come by. I had trouble with the first puzzle encounter. The goal was to rescue two WeeStinkers. Each WeeStinker is rescued by solving a different puzzle. The player can choose which WeeStinker to save first. The one I chose was the hardest to save, in my opinion. It took a while to figure out that puzzle and then I breezed through saving the second WeeStinker.

Players can save the game at any time and they should take advantage of that. It is possible to get yourself in a situation that you can’t get out of and you need to restart. If this happens, it is nice to have saved games to load instead of having to go back to the beginning.  At one point in time, I did not think ahead and I stranded myself on a platform that I couldn’t get off of.

As the player progresses, they obtain magic skills. The magic skills will help in pushing switches or activating items that can’t be reached. Many of the puzzles involve switches and bridges to get from one place to another. Some times the switches or bridges need to be activated from afar and that is where the magic comes into play. The player only gets nine shots of magic before the magic needs to be recharged. Players recharge the magic by using hands of that particular magic color spread through out the levels. Magic can not be used until a player finds a hand and initially charges the magic by walking over the hand.

The graphics in Wonderland Adventures: Mysteries of Fire Island are simple. If you feel your games must have supreme graphics, you may be disappointed on that level. I didn’t mind the graphics, but I am a person that goes for game play and not for eye candy. That being said, the graphics are not bad, they are just simple.

Over all, Wonderland Adventures: Mysteries of Fire Island is a huge game and offers plenty of fun and challenging puzzles. If you like puzzle games you should definitely check out this game. Not only do you get a great puzzle game, but you also get an adventure game as well. Gamers can’t go wrong with Wonderland Adventures: Mysteries of Fire Island.
