Wacky Golf by Sunbeam Software is a mini golf game for the PC. The game offers you six different courses, each with eighteen holes. The goal of the game is to get the golf ball into the hole, as it is with any golf game. The trick to mini golf is there are obstacles in the way of the golfer and the hole.
The controls are straight forward, aim your golfer with the mouse, then use the mouse button to set the strength of your shot. The courses are all different and the challenge is presented through the different course configurations. Some courses have players attempting to hit the ball over a bridge to get to the hole or through tubes on the way to the hole.
The graphics are bright and cheerful, with everything looking like it was molded out of clay. It put me in mind of the old Clayfighter game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) game system.
All the traditional mini golf elements are here; tubes, tunnels, pipes and passageways. There are even a few thrown in that don’t normally make it to your neighborhood course, such as conveyor belts, cannons, boxing gloves on strings, and even pinball bumpers. Wacky Golf is a simple but fun game, and fans of mini golf will love it’s $4.95 price tag. Check it out here.
