Citypixel is a popular browser based social interaction game in the same vein as Second Life. In it, you create an avatar and set up an apartment, cubical, or both. The goal is to make a city for yourself and do all of the things you would do in a real life city. Players can travel, build and interact with each other.

At first, you have only a limited amount of furnishings to chose from to decorate your apartment or cube. However, more become available for “pixels”, the local in game currency. There are many ways to get pixels, from purchasing them with real world currency, to just logging in each day to visit. Once you have your Avatar and his home, you can post blogs or photos, find new friends, design clothing and furniture, watch videos from You Tube (right on the TV in your apartment), or even play games.

Citypixel now has a Facebook application that links your Citypixel information right to your Facebook profile, making the social networking that much easier. It’s free to join, so head over to citypixel and give it a try.
