PopCap Releases Bejeweled Twist

Bejeweled Twist is the first Bejeweled title released in four years. Bejeweled has been made for almost every platform out there from mobile phones to the PC and even as an add on in Blizzard Entertainment’s World of Warcraft.

Bejeweled Twist brings the Bejeweled franchise to an entirely different level with stunning graphics and innovative game play. Instead of swapping gems to complete a row of three gems, players rotate a 2 x 2 block of gems clockwise to attempt to line up a row of three gems. Another big difference is players do not have to make a match every turn. Players can rotate the block in preparation for a future move. So far the game has been getting great reviews from people that have had a chance to play it.

“There’s no doubt this is the world’s greatest casual video game,” declared Cindy Robertson, who wrote, published and sells a strategy guide for Bejeweled 2 under the pen name Julia Gemstone.

“PopCap has done it again, taking a ridiculously simple concept and honing it into an utterly enthralling experience that can be relaxing, challenging, exciting or incredibly strategic, depending on your mood. With so many ways to play, Bejeweled Twist provides thousands of hours of fun for anyone. If Bejeweled is hot chocolate, Bejeweled Twist is a double mocha latte!”

Bejeweled Twist is available from PopCap’s web site and will soon be on store shelves such as Walmart, Best Buy and even at Amazon.

The game sounds like a great “twist” on the match three genre and I love the addition of not having to make a match each time you make a move. I know that was part of the challenge of match three games, but it is also something I have always wanted to do. Bejeweled Twist sounds fun and entertaining and I can’t wait to play it.

Legacy Interactive has announced the release of Pet Pals: New Leash on Life a veterinarian simulation game that has players trying to save animals. Players get to experience, first hand, the life of a veterinarian by diagnosing, operating, taking care of, feeding and playing with virtual pets.

Players start out as a new recruit working at an animal shelter. They have to nurse all of the animals back to health and then find good homes for the animals. Pet Pals: New Leash on Life contains more than thirty different animal cases to solve. Some cases are easy such as drooling rabbits, but others are more difficult like a dog that has been hit by a car.

Pet Pals: New Leash on Life sounds like a fun game, especially for animal lovers, but it has another great feature. A portion of the sales are given to The Humane Society of the United States. Not only do you get to play a fun game, you get to help out the poor animals in Human Societies. If this sounds like a game you would enjoy, head over to Legacy Games and download the trial.
