Majesco Entertainment announced a new hidden object game for the Nintendo DS, Hot ‘n’ Cold. The premise behind the game is taken from the old childhood game that most people have played. Children search for something as another child or adult tells them they are getting warmer or colder depending how far away they are from the item. The same theory is applied in Hot ‘n’ Cold, players are told warm or cold by a meter at the top of the screen depending how close they are to the hidden object they are attempting to locate.
Players use the stylus to move objects out of their way to uncover the desired object. Another interesting aspect is the game contains real physics. The physics will make finding an object a little more challenging in the 50 different levels.
Hot ‘n’ Cold sounds like a great hidden object game with a few twists in there to set it apart from other hidden object games already available for the Nintendo DS. Hot ‘n’ Cold will be available in early 2009.
Press Release Follows:
EDISON, N.J., October 9, 2008 – Majesco Entertainment Company (NASDAQ: COOL), an innovative provider of video games for the mass market, today announced Hot ‘n’ Cold for Nintendo DS. Developed by Majesco’s Product Development Group in Edison, New Jersey, Hot ‘n’ Cold sends players on a hunt for missing items within large environments that break new ground in the hidden object genre by being fully 3D.
Have you ever lost your keys or the television remote, searched frantically for it, only to eventually discover it in the most unlikely of places? Inspired by the classic children’s game in which players use temperature cues to indicate proximity to an item (i.e. “You’re getting hotter!”), Hot ‘n’ Cold for DS challenges players to uncover hundreds of missing objects like these by using the Hot ‘n’ Cold meter as a guide for discovery.
You are the leader of the Hot ‘n’ Cold Club, a group that uses its innate abilities to hone in on lost objects for distressed townsfolk. The stylus lets players lift and throw objects out of the way in 50 multi-room levels in both indoor and outdoor 3D environments. Real world physics make the search for hidden items more dynamic and fun as does the “Book Style” play that lets gamers turn the DS on its side. Three different online multiplayer modes-Hide ‘n Seek, Find the Most and Race-let gamers create their own levels by hiding objects within rooms and then sending those levels to a friend who must discover the hidden objects. These created rooms can also be shared with friends via local wireless multiplayer or the HotandColdHome.com online sharing community.
Hot ‘n’ Cold for Nintendo DS is expected to ship in early 2009. Additional information about Majesco’s exciting line of products is available at: www.majescoentertainment.com.
