eGames, Inc announced their plans to develop casual games for the iPhone. They plan to release multiple games for the iPhone, but will start with Burger Island. Other casual games from eGames will be released later, such as Puzzle City.

eGames has worked on getting their games published on other casual devices, such as Nintendo DS and Wii, so now it is time to tackle the iPhone.

“With development efforts already in play for eGames titles across the PC, Nintendo DS and Wii, the iPhone represents a great opportunity to further leverage our internal properties, increase brand awareness, and diversify our product line,” said Rich Siporin, eGames Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

Burger Island and other eGame IPs will make good games for the iPhone. Some games may be harder to play with the touch controls on the iPhone, but games from eGames should port well. The touch controls should be easy to use.

New Bejeweled Coming

PopCap Games announced a new Bejeweled release, Bejeweled Twist, due out next month (October). Many gamers have played Bejeweled on many different devices and even in World of Warcraft. Bejeweled Twist is suppose to be just as revolutionary as the first Bejeweled and promises to bring a “completely new perspective” to the match 3 genre.

PopCap is holding an unveiling for the game, which is the first time this has ever been done in the history of casual game releases. The game will only, initially, be available from PopCap’s website for $19.95.

I can’t wait to see what this version of Bejeweled is like. The first Bejeweled is a great game and is still entertaining enough to pass the time, but I am excited to see the changes they have made. I am also interested to see how Bejeweled Twist will change the match 3 genre.

There are two new WiiWare games available for download on the Nintendo Wii this week, Bomberman and Art Style: ORBIENT. Bomberman is available for 1,000 Wii Points ($10 USD) and Art Style ORBIENT is available for 600 Wii Points ($6 USD).

Bomberman Blast allows players to challenge up to seven of their friends, making for a great 8-player battle online battle. Bomberman Blast takes advantage of the Wii Remote motion capability and allows players to shake the remote to trigger new items and new bomber levels. Players can import their Mii characters into the the battles, too.

Art Style: ORBIENT challenges players to maneuver stars in a galaxy that has both gravity and anti-gravity sections. Players can choose to collide with other stars on the level, which will give them a bigger star or capture other stars, which causes those stars to become your satellites. Of course, it is not as easy as maneuvering through the galaxy, there are obstacles in the way that will trip you up.

If either of these games sound interesting, check out the WiiWare channel on your Nintendo Wii.
