Activision announced the creation of a Nintendo Wii only label, called Wee 1st. The Wee 1st label will develop games intended for the Nintendo Wii instead of trying to port games that have been developed for other consoles.
“The Wii is introducing new audiences to gaming,” said Activision Publishing’s Dave Oxford. “Clearly, the Wii’s accessible controls are changing how the audience plays games and how we look at game design. This initiative is designed to showcase games that take full advantage of the Wii’s capabilities.”
Wii specific labels have been a growing trend along the big publishers. Recently, EA announced Wii Specific controls to their sports games. Ubisoft has created their own label for Wii games, as well. Most of the big publishers now have a section of their companies dedicated to the Nintendo Wii. This should be good news and hopefully we will see some great 3rd party titles released for the Wii.

This is good to hear. I hope more developers continue to put dedicated teams on Wii production rather than just sloppily put together ports.
