Discovery! is a hidden object game with a bit of a twist. Instead of just hunting for objects hidden within a scene, you are on a game show competing for prizes against other game contestants. There are three contestants all together, including you. The contestants battle to find the objects and gain more money than the other contestants. At the end of each game segment, the contestants are ranked for that segment and all of the money gained is accumulated until the end of the “level” or game show. Discovery!

The game starts out with you on a game show. The host introduces the contestants for the show and there are some clever names and introductions given before the game begins. The game begins and you spin the wheel. The wheel contains different amounts of money. The amount the wheel stops on is the amount you get for finding the hidden objects. The money amount changes between segments of the show.

Each time a contestant, including you, finds an object they accumulate the money amount from the previous wheel spin. The more objects you find the more money you make. Players do have to find all of the objects on the list of objects to find. There are a few objects listed at a time and every time an object is found the object is replaced with a new object until all the objects have been listed.

The objects are well hidden in the scenes. Each scene is picked by the player before the game show begins. The place you go, like Spain and Egypt govern the scenes you find the objects in. As with other hidden object games, some objects are right out front and easy to find and other objects are really well hidden. Players don’t have to worry too much about hard to find objects because there is a hint button. Click on the hit button and an object will be highlighted for you. There is no downfall to using the hint button, you don’t get less money or anything like that, but the hint button isn’t always available. The hint button recharges after you use it. The hint button recharges fast in the beginning levels of the game show and much slower as the levels progress.

Discovery! There are a couple different search games. Players can search in a classic search game where they have a list of objects that they need to find the objects. The other type of game play is a category game. Players have to find the category of item. For instance, one of the categories will be fruit and you have to find all of the fruit in the scene.

There are also mini games contained in Discovery!. The mini games are based off of the money wheel. When players land on a certain color on the money wheel they play a mini game that is associated with that color. The mini games are vastly different. One mini-game has you clicking on colored money as it falls. Each color of money has a different denomination associated with it. A different mini game has players getting money to answer trivia questions.

Discovery! is a very different hidden object game and very entertaining as well. The added game show story line adds fun to the game and makes the hidden object game competitive, which adds another dimension to hidden object games. Discovery! is definitely worth the $19.99.
