If you’re a fan of Donkey Kong Country’s barrel blasting levels, you’ll be a huge fan of Cannon Blaster. This free flash game is all about challenging you with crazy high flying barrel blasting action. Granted, the graphics don’t look as nice as Donkey Kong Country on the SNES, the levels in Cannon Blaster are much more difficult and creative than the classic Donkey Kong Country series.

You’ll be dropped into a blast cannon and you’ll have to time your explosions accordingly, keeping in mind the ways of gravity, avoiding enemies and, sometimes, a bit of luck.

There are plenty of levels to keep you challenged for hours, each becoming more challenging as you go. Initially, you’ll hope through a few cannons to your exit, but before long you’ll be jumping floating bees, flying through hidden clouds and dealing with reverse gravity–a whole new level of cannon blasting fun.

The floating bee obstacles are the key factors which makes me believe the developer, Lindsay LaPlante, was a bit fan of Donkey Kong Country since that’s the same enemy Rare used in their title. Cannon Blaster is very cheery and happy, each exit is a “Happy Sun Guy” which leads you to the next level.
