Fires in Funtown, by Fat Badger Games, is a crazy, goofy and fast paced flash game where you must save penguins and monkeys as they jump from a burning building.

The concept seems straight out of a wacky cartoon but the ability to save the world isn’t as clear cut as it seems. Fires in Funtown gets pretty challenging pretty quickly as you catch the little animals from different heights of the burning building and bounce them to safety with a small trampoline.

You’d think one bounce would be enough to bring them down to earth in a safe manner, but no, you must bounce the little guys across the screen to allow them to land gracefully. Fail and you’ll have a flat pancaked animal embedded in the earth for each miss. Don’t let the ground amass with squished penguins and monkey’s, that’s just mean!

Just when you think you’ve got the pattern down straight a monkey jumps from the building as you’re saving one from disaster already, you must rush back to save the second one while the first is still in mid air. How? The “D” key for “Dash” is the only power-up you’ve got at your disposal. You’ll have to dash back and save the animal from certain doom and, in many cases, get back to the first animal who is still falling from a bounce off your springy saving device.

The dash power-up has a charge time so you’ll have to be smart about your timing and only dash when needed. After about 10-minutes my nerves were on edge and I had to take a break. How many can you save
