Qink is a flash based puzzle game that is different from any other puzzle game I have played. The goal of the game is to complete the 3D cube with the provided shapes. The provided shapes are colored different colors and the catch is one side of the cube must be all one color. The other catch is all of the provided shapes must be used.
The key to success is looking beyond the obvious. Many of the pieces can be used in more than one spot. A square could take up an entire side of the cube or it could take up a quarter of the cube. Players need to figure out how to use the shapes in the correct way to meet all of the rules of the game and complete the cube.
Qink can be challenging if you do not think outside the box, literally. Players need to visualize the shapes and where they fit. There are two different modes of play, timed and non-timed. The timed mode scrolls the shapes across the bottom of the screen and the player needs to fit the shaps in their spots before one of the shapes makes it to the other side of the screen. I found the timed mode really challenging. I mainly stuck to the non-timed mode and that was still pretty challenging. If you are looking for a different puzzle game, check out Qink.

This game was extremely creative and made you really sit down and think (but not too hard to walk away).
I’m happy to see developers thinking outside the box (hehe, pun) on casual games and not all re-designing the match-three or other puzzle style that’s dominating the industry.
I like many of those match-three clones, and respect the hidden object games, don’t get me wrong. But sometimes you just want to see something different and well designed, today, that’s qink.
Oh and the themed music and karate style sounds are great.
