Money WheelThere are many gamers in the world that aren’t into typical casual games involving puzzles, mazes, precision targeting or color matching. If you like lottery style “games of chance” which cost you absolutely nothing to join, you may like the games that Casual Gamer Chick is now promoting: moneywheel and banko! These are your typical games of chance where you win points to buy raffle tickets where you can win money and awesome prizes.

Why isn’t it gambling? Because you never have to give any money to the game so there is never any risk involved. All the prizes and money are funded through advertisement revenue and company promotions (a company may hand over a few iPod Touchs or cash money in return for publicity.) You’ve got the ability to win real tangible items and money without having to spend any of your own to play.

Moneywheel is a lottery style game where you must pick four two-digit numbers and one bonus number, click a button and hope to win (that’s the “game of chance” part.) You’ve got 100 spins on the wheel each day and when you win one or more numbers you’re awarded a set number of points or straight out cash.

Money Wheel Points

If you hit one number you’ll get 25-points and if you hit your bonus number you’ll get 10-points. Hit two of your numbers and you’re awarded 500-points and it continues to go up the more points you hit! Hit all four numbers and you’ll get $5,000 and if you get every number you’ll hit the jackpot (which is currently 1-million dollars.) That’s cash, not points… you invest no money but you’re given money–not a bad risk in my opinion. I typically use quick-picks rather then select my numbers myself because it takes too much time and I just want to see if I win or lose.

Warning, it gets addictive after a few rounds of play. At first I thought the game would be boring as you don’t have to really interact with it, but much like a typical gambling style game, you’re sucked into it much like that of a casino.

Moneywheel is a fairly basic game, you randomly generate numbers and their tested against the current “winning numbers” (along with other players playing the game online at the same time as you) and if you hit some or all of the numbers you’re a winner.

How do you actually win prizes? As you accumulate points (I’ve currently got 1,295) you’ll be eligible to buy raffle tickets for the prizes. The prizes may change after each drawings due date so you should check back often to see if any sound good, and bank your points for the prize you want then you can buy more than one ticket to increase your chance of winning. Currently the prizes are:

  • $5,000 cash
  • iPod Touch
  • $500 cash
  • 100,000 points (to put into raffles)

Money Wheel - You WinEach prize will require a ticket to enter the raffle, with each ticket costing some number of points. For example, to enter the raffle for the ipod touch, you need to buy a ticket for 1,500 points (I’m close!). Considering you don’t have to spend a dime to get the points winning or losing isn’t a very risky proposition.

This is the first game of chance web game I’ve seen where I can win prizes for simply enduring some advertisements, especially considering advertising is all over the Internet and frame almost every free game on the Net.

Later, I’ll describe the Banko! If this style game sounds interesting, try it now!
