Free Solitaire Update

Astraware has announced an update to Astraware Solitaire that changes the way the game deals with graphics and allows for new card backs and backgrounds. The update allows for one version of Astraware Solitaire with many different backs instead of having to have a different version of Astraware Solitaire on your device for each card backs you own.
The graphic update for Solitaire is a free update. The new update is a free download and the themed backs that were originally released, such as Halloween and Christmas are now in card back packs and allows for easy transition. Astraware is offering a new themed pack, just in time for the upcoming Romantic holiday, Vanlentines day. Players can now get a Valentines theme pack for their Solitaire game.

KEELE, Staffordshire, UK - January 30th, 2008 - Astraware(R) is pleased to announce an update to Astraware Solitaire which more easily allows the addition of new graphical features like extra card backs and backgrounds.
Whilst players will see no difference in the way the game plays, Astraware Solitaire version 1.20 now includes a different way of handling resources so instead of having multiple special versions of Astraware Solitaire on their devices, players can keep one copy of the game on their device and install seasonal card back sets as they want. Spooky Halloween and seasonal Winter card back sets which were included in special versions of Astraware Solitaire are now available separately, and a brand new Valentine-themed card set is released just in time for the most romantic day of the year.
Version 1.20 of Astraware Solitaire is a FREE upgrade for everyone who already owns any version of the game! Users wishing to upgrade from the standard version of Astraware Solitaire can simply install the new version over the top. Users of Astraware Solitaire Winter or Halloween editions should install the new version and add the card back packs they want.

A smart update by Astraware. Also great that they distributed it as a free upgrade. Should make the game much more user friendly. Another great solitaire game is Fairway Solitaire by Big Fish Games. It has been around for a while now as an online game, but now there is a downloadable version. Nice. It cleverly blends golf with solitaire and speaks to what can be done when creativity attacks solitaire.
