Bloons Player Pack 2Bloons Player Pack 2 is a puzzle flash game. The object of the game is to try and pop balloons. Players pop balloons by controlling a monkey who throws darts at the balloons. The player gets a certain number of darts to complete the level and there are a certain number of balloons that you have to pop to move on to the next level. The levels get harder as you progress by putting more obstacles between the dart monkey and the balloons you have to pop.

There are special balloons that when you hit them they explode and others that shoot out an arrow. Some levels only give you one dart and require you to pop all of the balloons using that one dart. The game gets challenging, but in a fun way.

“The launch of Pirates of the Caribbean Online opens up an entirely new world of pirate adventures to thousands of fans who can now play alongside their favorite characters in a fully-immersive environment that builds on and goes beyond the epic stories created in the films,” said Paul Yanover, Executive Vice President and Managing Director, Disney Online. “We believe the game’s focus on action and adventure, combined with many customization options will appeal to a broad audience of both gamers and fans of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise as they set out on their own course to live the legend.”

Kayo Games Interview

After our review of PlayDetective: HeartBreakers we thought it would be great to see exactly what Kayo Games was all about by talking with the folks that made it. Kayo Games is special because it’s a true independent developer working on their first title and it’s natural to have a curiosity about ‘how the magic happens.’

If you’re striving to be an indy developer I suggest you take a bit of their advice as they’ve breached many boundaries (including the ocean) in order to complete the title. Gaming isn’t just a kids dream anymore.

CGC: What does Kayo Games mean? Is there any significance to the name?

Kayo is our last name.

CGC: How many people work at Kayo Games?

Tom and Sila Kayo.

CGC: What inspired you to create a Detective style game over a standard match-three, card, or a time management style title?

We wanted to do something new. And we were inspired by a popular TV show.

CGC: How many developers worked on the game and did you have any art/music department?

My brother is the only developer/programmer. We contracted two people for Art and Music, and I wrote the stories and the plots, designed the levels and oversaw the production.

CGC: How many hours did the development take from planning to completion?

I’d say an average of 6 to 20 hours a week depending on what needed to be done. But the whole development process took two years.

CGC: What was the most challenging aspect of the project?

My brother and I both have full time jobs, families and limited resources. He lives in Europe and I live in Arizona. There is a time difference of 10-hours between us. All that combined with other factors made it a little though.

Men Like Casual Games Too They Just Don’t Admit It

ZumaNext time the man in your life or a male friend claims they don’t like casual “girlie” games don’t believe them. A recent casual games industry study, conducted by the Casual Games Association, found that men like to play casual games, but don’t like to admit to it. This shatters the stereotypical industry standard that mainly believes casual games are for females. There are some companies that base games solely on concepts that appeal to women like coordinating parties, baking cakes or taking care of kids.

While three fourths of the casual games are purchased by females, the play time is split fifty fifty between men and women. This may be because men don’t want to be associated with playing casual games they only want to be seen buying hard core video games. The other option is men are more likely to walk into their local video game retail store, which carry mostly hard core games, and women are more likely to play and buy games online. Most casual games are downloadable games that are purchased online.

“Everyone always thought that casual games were something that only appeal to women,” Jessica Tams, managing director of the association, said in an interview. “We have always been obsessed about making games for women.”
