Nintendo filed a patent for a tilt sensing mechanism for the Nintendo DS. The Nintendo DS would be a mobile Wii. The NY Post feels the Nintendo patent sets up a showdown between Apple and the Nintendo DS. The new Apple Iphone also has tilt sensing technology built into it. Iphone bejeweled

Apple has been attempting to get into the mobile gaming market for a while. The Ipod has some games for it, but nothing spectacular. The Iphone on the other hand has had a few big name companies publish games for it.

If Nintendo and Apple are preparing to battle each other, it will be a showdown of the titans. Both Nintendo and Apple have proven they can come back into the market and compete with great new products that people like. The Nintendo DS is a great success and the Sony PSP doesn’t seem to affect the sales in any major way. Apple has has success with their not too old operating system Mac OS X and the new Mac Book Pros.

Guess we will have to wait and see if these two companies are setting up for battle and who will come out the winner.
