The best way to describe Spinword is the combination Scrabble meets Tetris. The object of the Spinword is to spell words from the blocks that are “falling” upwards. There are always four possible letters on the block. The block is spun around to get the letter you want.
The blocks flow upwards and you need to direct them to a place and hope to spell a word with the next blocks to flow upwards. The hardest part is getting the letters you need and thinking ahead. There were many times that I had a word in mind and then changed it given the letters that I had. There were other times that I had a word in mind and didn’t see the other word that I could have made.
To complete a level, you need to achieve a certain amount of words or points. The first level starts out easy, but it wasn’t a give me level. I had to do the first level a few times before I won. When I did complete the level, I completed it by getting enough points because I needed three words and only spelled two. Same happened to a few other levels, I ended up completing the levels with points instead of the required number of words.
The graphics in the game are good. The backgrounds in the levels are quite nice looking. The map looks neat too. The blocks themselves are nicely done.
Over all I found the game challenging, but very addicting. I kept telling myself one more time one more time, every time I lost. Spinword is a great change from other scrabble type games because it adds the puzzle element into the game.
