Retro Records is a unique game. It is a match three type game with a spin. The object of the game is to match records to their record cover. You match three records at a time. The records fall from the top of the screen. The covers are on the side of the screen.Retro Records

The story behind Retro Records is your uncle left you a ton of records from the once running Retro Records, but they are not categorized in any order at all. Your job is to categorize the albums so that Retro Records can open again.

There are all different styles of music that you need to categorize. Every level brings a new type of music to organize. The first level starts out pretty easy. There is only one type of music to match and the rate at which the records fall is slow. Three records fall at the same time, usually at different speeds. You need to match the album cover on the left of the screen with the fallen record. You drag the album cover to a box at the bottom of the screen so the record can safely fall into the cover. If you get the cover wrong, the album falls and shatters on the floor. The shattered records push up your box closer to the fallen records. If all your broken records hit the top of the screen the game is over.

There are power ups that you win by matching so many records. One of the first power ups you get is the turntable. The turntable is neat because it is a wild card and can be used to match to any record. The other neat feature is that when you use the turntable whichever genre, such as rock, techno, classical, of record is falling will start playing. There is also a gold record power up. The gold record will clear broken records from the column it is falling in.

You need to identify the correct picture before the records come down. Each level the records fall at a faster pace and the pictures become harder to identify.

The graphics in the game are good. The album art looks like the original artwork. The sound in the game is also well done.

I thought the game was fun to play. The only gripe I had was it got too hard too fast, for me anyway. I had trouble identifying some of the album covers, which caused my records to break and fill up.
