The Sims BowlingYou can now play The Sims Bowling on your iPod, says PocketGamer. The little hand-held game has been out for mobile devices but has moved to the iPod for click-wheel fun.

Yes, forget the clever stuff. The Sims Bowling for iPod is all about the simple pleasures of rolling a heavy ball into a bunch of curvaceous sticks and knocking them over. It’s something the iPod’s click wheel should be ideally suited to doing.

The important focus here is that silly click wheel and how it performs in a gaming environment. I’ve found many games can be extremely stressful because of the click wheel, any arkanoid or breakout game, for example. The wheel should perform well under these conditions but when you add a protector to your iPod it becomes more of a challenge.

I have installed an iSkin on my iPod and it protects the device from scratches but also makes the response from the wheel a bit less responsive. Nobody wants a lack of response in mid-game, that’s just annoying.

Bowling, however, isn’t an action based game so the wheel may work out just fine for this environment.
