Rockstar is most widely known for their Grand Theft Auto games, but last year they released a Table Tennis game for the Xbox 360 called Rockstar Games presents Table Tennis. Rockstar Games presents Table Tennis is heading to the Nintendo Wii.

The game is being done from scratch and not even by the same group that originally did Table Tennis for the Xbox 360. The game is being developed in England and the San Diego team will work in collaboration. The San Diego team was the team that originally developed Table Tennis.

“Ever since we released Table Tennis, fans have been asking us to create a Wii version,” said Rockstar founder and executive producer Sam Houser. “By bringing Table Tennis to the Wii and utilizing the motion-sensitive Wii Remote, a new audience can now experience a game that is beautifully designed and impossible to put down.”

There aren’t any more details available about the game at this point. I am excited to hear this news. I thought Table Tennis was a lot of fun on the Xbox 360. It can only be more fun on the Nintendo Wii given the Wiimote controls. I am sure it will be very similar to playing table tennis in real life. It will be interesting to see the control scheme and how it works. I hope they get it right and make Table Tennis at least as fun as it was on the Xbox 360.
