Barrel Mania is a casual puzzle game. There are barrels of toxic waste that you need to safely get to the safe point. The barrels are delicate and will blow up if they hit objects that have been put in the way or if they bounce off of too many objects. Barrel Mania reminds me of one of my favorite old time games: The Incredible Machine. The concept in the games are similar.
The basic story behind the game is that something has gone wrong with the computer system that is responsible for transporting the chemical barrels. You need to move these barrels to prevent a catastrophe from happening. To safely get the barrels to the safe point, you need to use the tools that are provided. Each level you get a few tools to do the job.
The game is really fun to play. The puzzles are challenging. In the beginning levels they are easy, which is normal, but as you progress they get more challenging. The tools you get to use become more high tech as well. In the first level you get some pipes to guide the barrel to the safe point. The next level you get the pipes as well as some utilities that bounce your barrel into the air.
The safe points are put in various places that definitely add to the challenge. Some times they are below the barrel and other times they are above the barrel. There are also lasers that will shoot the barrel and cause it to blow up. There are items to get around the lasers and redirect them.
The graphics in the game are good and the music is catchy. If you like casual puzzle games, then you should check out Barrel Mania.
