USA networks airs a show called Dead Zone. The show is based on Stephen King’s hit book The Dead Zone. First there was the book, then the TV show and you guessed it, now the video game. Walt’s computer is a flash based point and click casual game.
You are investigating the murder of Sheriff Walt Bannerman. You are in his office and you need to click around to find clues about why he was murdered. Once you click around enough, you will find the password for his computer.
To me this is the most amazing part of the game, you can log on to his computer and interact. You read his email, chat on IM and even open a browser. The most amazing part to me though is that you can cut and paste on his computer. I have never seen such interaction in an online casual game before.
Walt’s computer contains information about the cases he was working on. The point is to gain enough information to determine why Walt was murdered. You need to piece together all of the clues to solve the mystery.
The graphics are really good too. The filing cabinet has a reflection of the office in it. The desk even has wood grain in it. There is also a cup of coffee on the desk that you can pick up and drink. Nice added touch.
I found the game play intriguing. There are plenty of things to click on and get information about. If you think hard enough you can figure out some of the puzzles. If you can’t figure them out by thinking, you can figure them out by clicking around. There are some puzzles that involve guessing so there needs to be some thought put into it.
If you like point and click casual games, you should definitely check out Walt’s Computer
