PopCap Games has announced that they acquired Chicago based developer Retro64. The deal is undisclosed at this time.

The deal gives PopCap access to arcade style game as well as action oriented games such as Z-ball and Cosmic bugs. This acquisition increases the types of games that PopCap can offer as their own.

PopCap plans on keeping the office in Chicago and it will be run by Mike Boeh from Retro64. This acquisition gives PopCap over 120 employess in offices across the globe.
