Mario Kart Officially Announced For The Wii

Reggie Fils-Amie of Nintendo Corp. announced that there will be a Mario Kart for the Nintendo Wii. The announcement was made at E3. He said that there will be online play and Mario Kart comes with a steering wheel as well. Mario Kart Nintendo Wii

Reggie also mentioned “…more racers means more fun.”, but did not say how many racers were able to race. He eluded to giving the number away at the end of the press conference, but it was never given so we will have to wait and see. The game is scheduled to be released Q1 of 2008.

I am so excited to hear this. I love Mario Kart. I have owned it for all of the Nintendo consoles. I figured they would eventually bring it to the Wii. It is a staple game for Nintendo. I am concerned that it may be hard to play, though. I have played the racing game on Mario Party 8 and it is tough. Granted, Mario Kart will have a wheel, which may make it a bit easier. We shall see.
