Miss Management is a simulation game. The developers decided to take the every day ho hum of an office place and make it exciting. If you have every worked in an office building, you know there are stereotypical coworkers. All of those stereotypical coworkers are in this game. The office kiss up, the person that smells up the place with their lunch, the gossiper, and many more.

If you have ever felt compelled to run an office building, now is your chance. You play Denise, the newly hired office manager. Your job is to do everything an office manager would be expected to do, delegate tasks, manage the office money to buy snacks for the employees and office supplies, but adds the fact that you need to make sure your employees are not getting too stressed out. Miss Management

You progress through levels by receiving tasks each day. The tasks are color coded files. Denise can assign a task to an employee by bringing the task to them and dropping it on their desk. Of course, there are certain people that are good at certain things. The IT guy loves technical tasks, which makes perfect sense. There are characters that will only like one task and if they are given any other type of task they get stressed. If you give the wrong task to the wrong person their stress level goes up.

You need to manage the stress level among the employees, while trying to complete the tasks that were given to you. The stress of a character is represented by a thermometer above their head. Once the thermometer reaches its melting point, your character has a mental break down and leaves work for the day. Denise has to pick up the tasks of the employee that left increasing her stress. If Denise gets too stressed and leaves work, you have to restart the day. It leads to a delicate situation. Miss Management Screenshot

To complete a level though, you need to complete goals, such as bringing an employee five colored markers or making another character go to the washroom five times. All the while handing out the tasks that need to be done and managing the stress levels of the characters.

There are things that can bring down the stress levels of the office workers. Some are blanket good things, such as donuts make everybody less stressed, but other are good for one person but not another. The IT guy enjoys cooking his food in the microwave, but this annoys another employee in the building. The IT guys stress level goes down when he cooks, but the other employee’s stress level goes up as soon as the IT guy enters the kitchen.

This game is a great office satyr. Anyone who has ever worked in an office building will get a kick out of this game. All of the stereotypical people and events of working in an office building are in this game. It reminds me of one of my favorite movies: Office Space.
