Adobe Flash - Casual Platform of ChoiceThere are many downloadable casual games on the Internet, many of which are cross-platform. However, it seems many casual game developers are sticking with adobe flash as their platform.

Flash allows developers to build an instant cross-platform title without requiring additional costs for installer programs and testing all the permutations of installation and platform.

Flash works straight out of a web browser, most browsers in fact, and is easy for non-gamers to understand. Casual gaming has a large fan base, many aren’t “tech savvy” and really don’t care how they play their games–just that it works.

It’s interesting to see just how many flash applications exist for casual games. I’ve also seen adventure and RPG games relying heavily if not completely on flash development.

It’s a good time to be a flash developer with the increased audience of casual game play!
